We landed in San Fran on Friday night at about 10:30pm, and checked into the Marina Motel (which was lovely). The next day, we got to exploring!
After grabbing some coffee from the Coffee Roastery, we decided to do the tourist thing and run over to the Fisherman’s Wharf, where we saw this sleepy guy…

I wanted to use some time to get to learn the public transportation system, so we traveled pretty far for some lunch at St. Francis Fountain.

I was victorious in figuring out how to get there via MUNI, and the food was really, really good. We went for a walk around the area and grabbed some pastries for the next day from a local bakery.
After navigating back to the motel (bus and metro checked off my list for modes of transportation figured out) we took about a 2 hour nap and then went out to eat!

I don’t have as many interesting pictures from today, since we moved out stuff into our more permanent set up and went grocery shopping. I do have one fun pic though: my partner managed to get some Cookout sauce (if you don’t know Cookout I’m sorry) through airport security (thank goodness the packet is less than 3.4 ounces), so we created the mashup to end all mashups:

Looking forward to seeing everyone and starting work tomorrow!
